Barrington Court

Barrington Court, a National Trust property,
a large country estate,
nestled in the Somerset countryside.

With various walk ways,
leading to hidden walled gardens,

Colourful signs of Spring much in evidence

Old fashioned stables, with ageing gates to keep animals in,

A rhubarb patch beneath the old stone wall

The heavy weathered gates,
 protect the kitchen walled gardens

A brief interlude to my day,
unfortunately,
not a lot of time
 to savour the complete tranquillity
 this wonderful place offers.
I will look forward to returning.

A Church with a View

Selworthy Church, Somerset.
A church emerging from the hillside to overlook the surrounding countryside,
with the heights of Exmoor in the background.
On a good day, the landmark of Dunkery Beacon is visible,

the highest point in Somerset.
