A day to myself,
while staying in London,
initially led me to catching a bus,
to the nearby Westminster Bridge,
which gave views of Big Ben,
the Houses of Parliment,
and on the otherside of the Thames River,
the London Eye.
This was a very brief interlude,
as the place I really wanted to visit was Kew Gardens,
eventhough it was a very wintery day.
So, with a trek to the depths of the underground,
this is were I travelled to.
After leaving the visitors centre,
the impressive Palm house was on view.
Walking the vast grounds,
signs of a changing season emerged.
Kew Palace was as dominant as ever to the eye.
Never been inside,
but saving that for another visit.
One of the small hothouses was home to some exotics.
But gaint manmade mushrooms,
certainly turned some heads. . . . . .
for people to stop & stare.
More colour in evidence in the Alpine house.
Next to the Orangey,
flower beds of Snowdrops drooped their heads in clusters.
The sights of Kew went on & on,
although on a cold winter's day,
not enough time to explore these vast gardens,
especially as the weather started to gather in again
for more downpours. . . . . .
The wet weather continues,
causing so much misery & concerns for many
