The views of the Dutch countryside is not too far away from the town of Sluis.
The Shell path is situated on the outskirts,
on a higher gradient,
offering protection from natures own elements.
The path was originally made with a surface of broken pieces of shell,
which are still evident.
In between the clearings of the trees boughs,
the openness of farmland & cycle paths can be seen far into the distance as the land is so flat.
A definite characteristic of The Netherlands.
At the base of a tree stump,
the Glistening Ink Cap fungi is much in abundance.
Other species to be seen in the paths' grass verges,
included the Shaggy Ink Cap.
(I hope my identification is correct!)

As with any fungi, Do Not Eat any species unless You
are completely sure they are edible!

Just below the pathway,
something I didn't expect to see,
Tibetian cows were resting & taking refuge.
Our prescence certainly wasn't disturbing them.
With leaf colours changing,
another reminder of the Autumn,
was the clusters of berries in the hawthorn trees.
The sight of water was also never very far away,
& by just viewing the landscape in a different direction,
the landmarks of the town could still be easily be seen.
A worthy walk. . . .
