Just A Few. . . .

A few photos from the local town's flower show,
 a few weeks ago.
A lovely occasion, accompanied with my
daughter to meet up with other family members.

Brilliant weather with excellent viewin g
not only my first visit to this local tradition,
 but also my daughters!

But,
an occasion we both look forward to visiting again,
not only to see the displays,
but also to vist & hopefully to buy from some of the local crafts.

An excellent day, more to follow. . . . .

The Willows & Wetlands Centre

These photos were taken on the last Bank Holiday, Easter Monday.
Enjoyed a visit to the Willows & Wetlands Centre, Somerset.
Reasonably close to my home but never been before.
I'm an avid fan of craft work of any kind,
but to keep a tradition going I think is admirable.
Basketware is made on the premises, & guided tours can be pre-arranged.
Naturally, as they make the products, their shop is well worth a visit.

These over sized basket dislays were such a sight.
I wonder how long they took to be made.

The centre also boast a Museum with a definite country feel.

I particularly liked the naturally grown willow,
producing an arch over the garden bench.

Not only are the products made here,
but the  willow reeds are also grown within this location,
so more could be explored with a walk.
Started one of these walks, but time was running out to complete,
but I did notice these beautiful violets growing, nestled in the wayside

There was also a lovely cafe/tea-shop,
 there was definitely time though,
to fit in a cuppa before leaving!
