Last Day of Summer...!?!

Well, they say today is officially the last day of Summer!
Where has it gone....
I still want to sit & relax in sunshine
& appreciate the delights of summer,
from each individual bloom,
to the wonderful colour  that surrounds us in summer.

Or to be by the Seaside,

This year really has gone too quickly.....
Never enough time to appreciate
 every aspect of the season.

Really want just some more quality moments
 from  such a lovely season.....

Lets hope theres still some lovely weather
to enable us to enjoy all these natural delights!

And Some More......

At the local Flower Show,
spoilt for choice with numerous displays

The display above was made into a Bridal's bouquet,
stunningly beautiful!

The framework of a lantern enabled the above creation,
it's theme based around Harry Potter

Just loved the very small shoes that was part of the display!

Just A Few. . . .

A few photos from the local town's flower show,
 a few weeks ago.
A lovely occasion, accompanied with my
daughter to meet up with other family members.

Brilliant weather with excellent viewin g
not only my first visit to this local tradition,
 but also my daughters!

But,
an occasion we both look forward to visiting again,
not only to see the displays,
but also to vist & hopefully to buy from some of the local crafts.

An excellent day, more to follow. . . . .

188th Post or 189th Post!?!

It appears I've lost acknowledgement of one of my postings!
Computers can be so frustrating at times!
So, hopefully, this one will be recognised!

Images from a place which I find so tranquil,
ideal images of a very grand English garden,
helping to provide an opportunity
 to elimate some of the
 stresses of the week!
And, a place that enables me to visit fairly locally.
A perfect bonus!

Hestercombe Gardens,
a place I really do look forward to visiting yet again!

A Good Reason

My visit to Surrey last weekend,
 was an occasion,
I had been looking forward too for awhile,
 besides other familymembers.
My niece's baby is now just over a year old,
but last Sunday was her special Day,
 with her Naming Ceremony!
An occasion that was attended by family & close friends.

Fortunately,
the weather was more than kind
with a very warm &  sunny day.
The gazbeo was decorated in fabric bunting,
a lovey summer collection of flowers,
& to help mark the day,
the parents also included a Cross stitch cushion,
I had made with Eliana's name,
an appropriate sign for the day.
A registrar was also in attendence
to ensure the occasion was official.
A collection of readings & poems,
dedicated to Eliana & her up-bringing,
read by people that was the closest to her,
was a momentous part of the ceremony.

The occasion,
 represented as
 a wonderful garden party,
which had been hoped for!

The special little lady ,
was more than please to seek,
the delights of her toy box,
 after the ceremony!

But,
Smudge,
 the family dog,
 was certainly eager,
at the start to sit & wait,
 for the celebrations!!!

Overall,
I was most honoured to be involved with all preparations,
not only to make the bunting & cushion,
but also to be asked to be a Supportive Adult during Eliana's life!

Urban Fox!

Although I come from Somerset,
surrounded in countryside,
I would never have imagined,
that I would have to visit so close to London,
  to have to experience
such a close encounter with a Fox

This was a leafy suburb of Surrey,
the dustbin men had just  emptied the ordinary waste,
& this creature was then scavenging
for food in the middle of the road,
only moving with an oncoming vehicle.

Although we had several sitings
of this animal during the weekend,
even casually walking pass the patio doors,
 during this photo session,
at times,
the Fox was only a few feet away.

A very close encounter!
