The Landscape of the Garden

Hestercombe yet again, but honestly, so much to these gardens.

This post highlights the more formal approach to these gardens.

The areas blend from one terrace to the next.

The gardens are predominantly overlooked by Hestercombe House,

but this is not open to the geneal public. 

 The council use some of these rooms for offices.

The Orangery, a magnificiant building full of architecture beauty.

Another terrace with interest. . . .

Roses & Rosemary, an old-fashioned flower,

 together with an old-fashioned herb.

All over the gardens,

 plenty of benches for sitting & browsing,

 taking in many of the delights to be discovered here.

Climbing Roses & foxgloves,

beautiful blooms for this time of the year!

Through Open Gates

Hestercombe yet again,

 but just love the open gates,

 that lead oneself  into yet another terraced garden.

The character of the formal gardens just feel so tranquil & relaxing.

But, overall,

 the different aspects of the gardens,

 just blend into one area to the next, a real treat. . . .

Apologises, but I've used the above bench in lots of my photos,

just love the shape together with the bleached wood look.

Each area of the gardens,

 invitinly allows  you to venture into the next. . . .

The gateway below actually closed,

the garden on the otherside is being renovated.

Will look forward to the final design.

Amongst the Flowers

Thought I was sat here for a quiet moment,

but the consistent buzzing of very

 Busy Bees caught my attention.

A Leisurely Walk ~ Part 2

A massive expanse of Hestercombe is dominated with countryside walks,

really taking you back to nature with its abundance of wild flowers,

 together with lovely surprises of Rhododendron bushes of various shades of colour.

At ground level,

water side walking helps to add tranquilty & charm to this leisurely walk.

A smaller water feature protected by masses of lush green fens.

 A wild rose in all its glory. . . .

Taking one of the many routes to higher levels,

 the views of Taunton Vale are absolutely stunning.
