Such a Favourite

 

All flowers used in the photos,

 from weddings I've had the opportunity

I truly love fresh flowers,

the Rose,

a definite favourite

 

The last photo certainly gives it away,

 this is not my photo,

 but such an inspiration for wedding themes.

In each season, there is images of beauty.

Autumn is no exception.

 

A Stately Home

 

 

Dunster Castle is now run by the National Trust,

so to make the most of my visit,

I took the opportunity to see inside once again.

 

 

 

A beautiful stately home,

but one which is lovingly restored

& presented for the general public to view.

To the Conservatory.

 

 

 

 

They say. . . .

 

'An Englishman's castle is his home'

~  ~  ~  ~

My home is definitely

 on a much lesser scale to this beautiful place,

 but my home to me is my castle,

 a welcoming sanctuary,

 that I do value & cherish.

 

A Place with a View

 

Altough I've visited Dunster Castle several times before,

on this visit just a few weeks ago,

I did discover other aspects to such a lovely location in Somerset.

 

 

 

The turrets of the castle view out to Dunster beach,

 with views of South Wales in the distance,

something which would certainly

not be able to be seem on a murky,

bad weather day.

 

 

These steps initally led to the towering entrance of the castle,

but as I'd seen the castle several times before,

I decided to start walking around the grounds,

particularly as I knew I haven't seen some of this before.

 
 

 

After a short walk,

 in amongst the trees,

 which overlooked the castle,

the family pets' graves were evident,

which spanned over a huge period of time.

The castle is surrounded by some lovely somerset countryside,

 besides Dunster village below, & beyond.

A Colourful Collection

 

 

A very strikig array of  colour with this dramatic dahlia,

only photographed 2 weeks ago,

when on a visit to Dunster Castle, Somerset.

 

 

The flowerbeds seemed spectacular,

with such amazing displays of colour & variation.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Although we have just entered into the Autumn season,

the bees were still busy,

 collecting pollen for the makings of honey.

 

 

 

But, in places, the Autumn was beginning to bring a fading of colour

 

 

And leaves were starting to turn from their luscious green.

 

 

Each season has its beauty & traditions.

Soon, we will be embracing Autumn completely.

Although, the one change I do find the most difficult,

is with the shortening of days with daylight,

 together with  the altering of time by 1 hour,

here in the UK.

If only we could hibernate with darker mornings & evenings,

or even work less hours.

But, I've been busy in the garden today,

 planting lots of bulbs in readiness for some spring colour.

But, in the meantime,

 I shall be please to enjoy the fullness of Autumnual changes.

Stunning Cadhay

 

Cadhay House & gardens,

settled in the Devonish countryside.

 

A truly beautiful location,

a walk in & around the gardens,

really did take you to different retreats.

 

Two lakes occupied this idlyic setting,

& although initially rain,

the sun stunned & shone at the right time. . . . . . .

 

 A wonderful place to explore,

with many hidden jewels to stubble upon.

 

Just loved the marque tepees. . . . .

 

 All set up to enjoy the celebration of a wedding.

 

Beautiful flowers around the grounds,

 really did enhance for such a rememberable occasion.

 

 

 

A Mellow Yellows Weekend Moments

 

My Bank  holiday weekend,

very chilled overall

& enjoying it.

 

 

Just love the Gladiola,

which certainly enhance the room!

Fresh with Dashes of Blue

 

 

Another wedding

 to capture such a special day.

 

 

 

 

Although I love alternatives to fresh flowers,

I still get excited when

 fresh flowers are used for

such a personal occasion.

 

 

 

 On this occasion,

with such a lovely couple,

the Bride's Mother had created all the floral decoration,

including the Bridesmaids' & Bride's Bouquet.

A very personal touch!
