Our winter,
in the South West region of the UK,
has been exceptionally mild,
until the chill started to set
in during the latter part of last week.
Saturday,
we certainly woke up to a 'white' looking start.
No, not snow,
but a very icy frost.....
out came the woollies, hats, scraves & gloves.
The coldness of the weather,
not only a shock to the system for us humans,
but a shock to the plant life aswell.
Definitley a time to wrap up warm

Lovely photographs, yes yesterday and this morning a frosty one.The sun is up so hopefully it will soon clear!! I am going to do a little tidying in the garden this morning and Phil is going to clean the gutters. I am not really a Winter gardener, but the garden bags are collected from the council in the morning so I thought I would wrap up warm and do a few little jobs.
ReplyDeleteWe have had lots of birds visiting the garden, probably looking for food, which I have provided, had a robin, great tits, and blue tits.Hoping one or two might like our nesting boxes soon.
We have booked a holiday to Westward Ho! for July, do you know it very well? Have you been to Lundy Island?
Keep warm and safe, Jackie in Surrey.
Hi Shirleyanne. A cracking set of images. At least we can dive into the drawer for the thermals ... the plants don't have that luxury!
ReplyDeleteOh, keep warm and cozy I hope! These are such pretty flowers and plants but I do wonder how they fare in the frost. We don't get that kind of weather here.
